Ancre Hill Blanc de Noirs NV
Where: Monmouthshire, Wales
Grape: Pinot Noir
This light and energetic Welsh sparkling wine is a great alternative to Champagne with notes of apple and citrus and delicious nutty and biscuity aromas.
A little something we think you should know: this is made in the Traditional Method - the same as Champagne. It spends 2-3 years 'on lees' - this means rather than removing the dead yeast (yeast dies once it does its work of converting sugar to alcohol), the winemaker leaves the dead yeast in the barrel with the wine . This is what gives it the nutty and biscuity notes.
