La Paria 23, Maison Ventenac
Where: Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Grape: Grenache
This organic red wine from France is a great alternative to Pinot Noir. Refreshing and lively but supple, notes of sour cherry, raspberry and orange are lifted with liquorice, pepper and coriander. A fantastic example of a lighter than usual Grenache.
A little something we think you should know: Stephanie and Olivier Rame, the wife and husband team of Maison Ventanac say: "Once upon a time, there was a grape variety that won very little praise in our home region. Some said: “too plain.” Others said, “not ripe enough” or “not suited to this terrain,” but for us, it was “just perfect.” The variety is Grenache and the results are in this bottle. It is a really juicy and delicious wine to share with friends."
