Weisser Schotter by Weingut Strehn
Where: Mittelburgenland, Austria
Grape: Gruner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Gemischter Satz, Sauvignon Blanc
A great one for lovers of Sauvignon Blanc, this organic white wine from Austria is a blend of four grapes that produces a clean and fresh white wine, with notes of peach and yuzo alongside fresh herbs and lovely minerality. Great as an aperitif or with fish and seafood
A little something we think you should know: Pia Strehn and her brothers Patrick and Andreas are the 4th generation to make wine in Mittelburgenland, Austria. Their great-grandfather Carl was a farmer and had a small winery making wine for himself + friends; after WW2, his son Joe took over the winery. He had the first tractor in the village and earned money by doing taxi rides with his tractor. With this money he bought more land and planted more vineyards. Pia has become known as the Queen of Austrian Rosé - you can buy one and see why for yourself right here
