Wunderland by Weingut Strehn
Where: Mittelburgenland, Austria
Grape: Roesler
If you love Pinot Noir, you'll love this. It's our go to red this Christmas lunch. Light to medium bodied and elegant, its notes of red fruit, violet and spice are wonderful accompaniments to Turkey.
A little something we think you should know: Roesler is a grape variety that was developed in Austria in the 1970s, as a cross between two classic Germanic grapes - Blauer Zweigelt and Klosterneuburg. It was named after Leonard Roesler, a former director of Austria's oldest winemaking college (as he died in 1910 he wasn't involved in the creation of this grape! It's favoured by organic winemakers as it has a high resistance against fungal diseases and is completely resistant to winter frosts.
